All our volunteers are instructed in our data protection policy and know that they must treat Members’ and other Volunteers’ details with absolute confidentiality. Only volunteers have access to Members’ details. Members’ and Volunteers’ data is stored on a single computer, with back-up on a memory stick. The computer and memory stick are stored in a locked cupboard, as are paper records of Members’ and Volunteers’ details. Members and Volunteers are asked to sign a written consent to our Data Protection policy when they join us. All records, both on computer and on paper are destroyed after 12 months once membership or volunteering have ended. We keep members’ details for 12 months in case they wish to rejoin. No data is stored on the Toy Library website and the Toy Library has no cloud storage.
